Winged Book Tour & Review

Winged

By LM Pruitt

Release Date February 5
Book Two Uprising Coming in April

I fell from the Talmadge Bridge the week before I turned thirty.

I was given a choice: Go to Heaven. Go back to my life in Savannah. Or spend eternity fighting evil under the direction of the archangels.

I chose the demons--and the angels.

I chose the Winged.

Joanne’s life is everything her mother could have ever dreamed for her. With the right (almost) fiancĂ©, the right clubs, the right clothes, the right manicure, her life is that of a perfect southern debutant, but she never really wanted any of it. When she comes upon a horrible car accident on the very evening that would have, at the very least, symbolically sealed her fate, she leaps at the chance to be selfless and heroic. In her last moments of life, she experiences something that makes her feel truly alive… and then she dies.

In death, she is given a choice. She has earned the right to determine the manner in which she will spend her afterlife and she chooses to become Winged. The Winged are a trained group of volunteer souls who assist Archangels in battling demons. I will stop here for fear of spoilers, but the training is rigorous and exciting. The Archangels are lusty creatures with a tendency to be ruled by their hearts, and Joanne’s new besties would never have been allowed at the county club.

I thought it was original and I loved the story. Going the way of the Angels can sometimes get very dark and creepy in fiction, but for the most part Winged stays out of the heavy realms of biblical prophecy, revelations and end of the world rhetoric that fills a lot of books in this genre. It was action packed, steamy and full of interesting characters. It wasn’t deep or difficult and it wasn’t perfect, but ultimately it was terrifically entertaining. In my book – pardon the pun – that’s fantastic fiction.

I was provided a copy of this book without charge for an honest review. My opinions are my own and have not been influenced by any payment, agreement or other compensation.

About the Author:

L.M. Pruitt has been reading and writing for as long as she can remember. A native of Florida with a love of New Orleans, she has the uncanny ability to find humor in most things and would probably kill a plastic plant. She knows this because she's killed bamboo. Twice. As a result, she's not allowed to walk in the gardening department of any store without supervision. She's also not allowed in the card aisle of any grocery store without an escort since she'll spend thirty minutes opening cards and laughing for no good reason. She is the author of the best-selling Jude Magdalyn series, the Moon Rising series, and the Frankie Post series. She continues to make her home in Florida in spite of the heat and mosquitos and shares her home with two cats--one of them smart, the other not so much.
