Book Description:

November in New York is cold but full of possibility for college freshman Erin Harris. When her twin brother, Nick, shows up on her doorstep for a surprise visit, Erin is delighted. Unfortunately, Nick’s arrival coincides with the discovery of a body outside her apartment building, a body drained of blood. Right away, Nick assumes vampires are involved. He’s not exactly their biggest fan since Erin dated one in high school.
Juggling nosy roommates, a first date with a gorgeous guy from college and a brother on a Van Helsing kick is enough to keep any nineteen year old girl busy - And then Erin’s old flame walks back into her life.
Is Erin destined to be caught up in supernatural shenanigans, or will she choose a different path?
*Beneath Manhattan Skies is a standalone story, following the character Erin Harris from Under the Desert Moon.

Calm down, a soothing inner voice advised. Could be wishful thinking and nothing more. She wanted so desperately to see James, she was inventing vampire activity where there likely was none. Maybe the girl had simply suffered the hickey from hell. No. Erin’s gut told her she’d got it right the first time.
Max led the girl away. Lucky for him, in his cozy world, his friend was simply drunk, and vampires didn't exist. Erin trailed them until they left the roof. At least the girl was alright. Nothing an iron tablet wouldn't fix.
“Erin, you okay?” Sadie peered closer. “You look like you've seen a ghost.”

Well.. Young adult was never my thing, but mixed with vampires it wasnt bad. (smiles)

The storyline was okay, most of the cast is right out of high school. Which makes it a bit hard to believe they could take down vampires. Ok so help take down vampires.

Erin pines for a “older man”, when maybe she should be dating in her own time frame. She even has a looker looking back. Tommy as sexy young man that rides a bike, and has been casting eyes at Erin. Can Tommy get past Erin's thoughts of her old flame?

Erin lives with 3 of her roommates when she has a unexpected visit from her twin brother. Equally intriguing is a woman's body is found, in the dumpster in Erin's apt building. In order to find out if Nicks thoughts are right about a vampire doing the killing, he and Erin go to the club to investigate. That of course will lead to Erin bumping into her ex, which is a vampire. So did James doing the killing?

Of course when some of the dust falls, it seems that a sting is in order to catch the real vampire that is doing the killing. So we have more intrigue and twist in the story.

I think the roommates will all do a little bit of growing up before their adventure is over. I saw how each of the friends even though young, showed loyalty and strength in their friendship. In the end James himself will show intellect and himself a wise “man”.

This book was provided free of charge as part of the tour for an honest review.
